About George Vlachos
I am a software engineer and an aspiring photographer living in northern Greece. I started my photographic journey back in 2012 taking some lessons and being part of a photography group. Since then, photography changed the way i look at the world, taught me to search and observe the hidden beauty and geometry in everything around us. Over the years, i understood that even though the photographer's tool, the camera, is pointing towards the outside world, it really looks inwards his own self. The frame is a window to not only the world, but to the mind that looks at that world. I make images mainly in black and white. The inherent abstraction of the monochrome image works as a shortcut away from absolute realism and towards personal interpretation of our world.
